Updates

Been real lazy with updating both here and on the main site, that's what buying a new house and then an Xbox360 does for you.
Right anyway added a new pic of the carbon fibre gear surround, check out the My FTO page for that. Easily one of the best mods i've ever done inside the car, but now means aload more pics will need updating.
I intend to add a lot more to the site this year, plenty of new pics to come + a few guides. Also the site is moving to a new server soon with a lot more available bandwith so expect also to see a few vid from events.
I have a shit load more camera equipment now so expect to see better pics appearing shorty with the better weather coming.

Asd i've said before if you have suggestions on what you'd like to see post them up here or email direct linley@redfto.co.uk

BTW yet again straight through the MOT......never failed yet :-) and no advisories.

General Update

Now the weather is getting better I've now started work on the FTO, currently project is replacing the front bumper which is now very stone chipped and has laquer peeling off.
I have aquired a very cheap silver one which didn't need much work to prep it for spraying, current state is stone chips and minor scratches filled and rubbed down and a couple of coats of primer, hopefully all finished over the next few weeks, I'll also be fitting modified sidelight/indicator pods once these are also finished.

MOT - Another Pass

Had the MOT this morning, passed with just a couple of things to get sorted, rear pads low(already had spares ready to change), rear droplinks, slight play in them, minor corrosion on 2 brake pipes which is easily dealt with. So pretty good result as the things pointed out are routine service items anyway.

2007 First Post

Ok my first post of the year, I have just added some new pictures to the MyFTO page on the website after realising the ones on there must have been 4 years old.
Loads of plans for the car this year, for the last 12 months I have bought various spare parts etc to fit, so the list below will hopefully all get done and I'll try and do workshop guide for some of them.
Alternator - Mine is on its way out.
Poly rear anti roll bar bushes.
Oil Catch tank
Front Caliper Bolts
Rear Brake pads
Indicator Mod
New Oil Temp Gauge - Not happy with the current one.

Also planning on maybe redoing some parts of the website, feel free to post any suggestions.

JAE 2006

Well JAE has passed for another year, a weekend of a strictly Japanese motors but mostly meeting up with fellow club members, getting drunk, having no sleep and eating rubbish for a few days.
Anyway a few pics will be up on the main www.redfto.co.uk site later this week but already online is a short 4 min 50meg vid of a couple of drifters the 1st being a Sumo Power 350z which loses it across the grass right in front of me.

Japfest

Pictures from Japfest now uploaded to my site under FTO Rallies.
Bit of a damp start but after the intial 20 min downpour it stayed dry for the rest of the day, it was still bloody cold though.
Thanks to everybody that came hope you all enjoyed it, feel free to add any comments here.

Routine Checks

I like to think because I do my own servicing that the car gets checked better and more often than one that just goes to a garage every 6 months or more, most of the things like bushes and oil changes just automatically get done on a time basis rather a mileage one so quite often I'll just do jobs even if parts don't look too worn.
Just a few basics done today like brake pads, exhaust, underseal, oil etc, i was a pissed off to find a screw stuck in one of the rear tyres, luckly it was dead centre and never driven flat so it was repairable which was good seeeing as the tyre only has a few thousand miles on it.

New battery

Just fitted a new battery, last one an Exide battery lasted over 6 years but ran dry so was stuffed. New battery is a Bosch AsiaSilver which is recommended for JDM cars plus it was the largest one that fitted, width wise there is only about 5mm clearance left. I got mine from Costco so it was a lot cheaper than retail but it should still be only around £50.
